More pics emerge, too

Surely it can't be long now before an official announcement on the HTC Legend. We saw renders back in December, spy shots more recently, and now the specs for the handset have appeared on the Web.

There's no massive surprises. The handset, which seems to be an upgrade of the HTC Hero, packs a 3.2-inch HVGA AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash.

Inside, there's a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Wi-Fi (no word on whether it's b/g or b/g/n), HSDPA, a magnetic compass and a 1300mAh battery. We knew quite a bit of that list already, but it's useful to see it appear from more than one source.

Another picture has also emerged, which you can see at the top of this post. It shows yet another set of colour options, along with the device being charged in what looks like the same way as the HTC Hero - a miniUSB cable. Oh, and it still has HTC's beloved chin.

With Mobile World Congress happening in Barcelona soon, expect a whole pile of new handsets to arrive in the near future. We suspect this to be among them.
