Make your own Apple iPad out of paper

Cut out and keep template now available

Make your own Apple iPad out of paper

8 February 2010 12:48 GMT / By Amy-Mae Elliott

Whether you reeeally want an iPad, you're curious and want to get a better idea of its dimensions, or you want to fake out a fanboy friend, the iPad template is now available.

The template can be printed off and folded into something that's roughly the same size as the real thing, and offers the same level of Flash support and USB connectivity.

The concept was actually created by an iPhone developer in order to help with the scale of graphics and UI placement for its upcoming iPad apps.

Let us know how you get on if you give it a go, or hang on for a here's-one-we-made-earlier option in a few months...

  • Ah this is so cool, but now I have a problem. I have been carrying this around making everyone jealous but people are now not only jealous, they are weirded out by my apparently insane possessiveness about my iPad when I am asked "let me have a go". AArrgghh Posted by Louise Bowie, England
  • Nice try, but where I come from this would be found out PDQ lol Would be a good wind up for a sec though :) Posted by Dee, United Kingdom
  • This is excellent - I use it to carry around my newspaper, diary and some photos so that they're always to hand to show people when they ask. Posted by Keith, UK
  • I april fooled my sister with this. Said I got an iPad early. She was SO mad when it wasn't real. Posted by David, United States
  • I'm going to make this for my boyfriend for his birthday, I'm sure as he'll be as thrilled as I was with my lack of Easter Egg. Posted by Boo, UK
