"Elmo wants you to make a monster friend", says Sesame Street, which, as a parent means forking out $3.99 or £2.39, depending on what side of the pond you're on, and handing over your iPhone or iPod touch to the sticky fingers of your own little monster.
"Choose a monster body and touch its face to give it eyes, nose and a hat. When you're done, Elmo will dance and play with your monster!" reads the "Elmo's Monster Maker" app description.
If you need a quiet kid for 5 minutes this app might well do the trick with its Sesame Street goodness praised in the App Store reviews, with those who've downloaded it highlighting the great graphics - as well as hinting at secret bonus videos if you hit on certain feature combinations...
