Wordpress has announced that version 1.0 of the Wordpress for Android application has been released, and is now available in the Android Market. It allows you to manage your Wordpress blog from your mobile phone.

The features list is respectable, and includes the ability to write and edit posts, including categories, tags and photos, create and edit pages, moderate and reply to comments, and even includes support for multiple blogs. An option to have new comments pop up in the Android notification bar is available.

The app has been built from the foundation of the wpToGo app, with the coder behind it being brought in to work on the official application. As a result, development of that application has been discontinued.

You can grab the application by searching through the Android Market on your device for "Wordpress", or by scanning the barcode on Wordpress' download page with a barcode scanner app.
