The rumours are over and the iPad has launched, but what goodies are you going to be able to get from Apple, besides all those available from third party manufacturers. Apple is launching the iPad with a bevy of accessories covering a wide gamut of areas that will clearly get the ball rolling before the multitude of accessory makers like Griffin and Belkin start to put their thinking caps on. Here are Apple's efforts for launch:

The standard dock connector

Yep, it's as simple as that. Having just spent up to $829 on your new gadget you'll want to get the standard dock connector that will not only make it easier to connect to your PC and ergo iTunes, but so when you're not fondling it to find out what the latest happenings are in the world of technology and gadgets on Pocket-lint you can, as even Steve Jobs himself suggests, turn it into a "great picture frame". Of course you'll also be able to charge it and because it comes with the standard 30-pin connector we presume you'll be able to double it up as an iPhone or iPod charger too.

You'll also be able to use it with some of the other accessories being launched like the Camera Connection Kit. Failing that it will let you connect to a stereo or powered speakers via the audio jack.

iPad Camera Connection Kit

One of the big selling points to the iPad will be to view you images and in an attempt to eradicate the need for a computer altogether Apple is launching the Camera Connection Kit that allows you two ways to import photos and videos from a digital camera.

The Camera Connector, says Apple lets you import your photos and videos to iPad using the camera’s USB cable, or you can use the SD Card Reader to import photos and videos directly from the camera’s SD card. It's going to be a fantastic accessory for the digital camera professional in the field allowing them to instantly view images on the go and means devices like the Epson Photo viewer are dead in the water from here on out.

iPad USB Power Adapter

Don't panic, you'll get one in the box, but this is for when you need one in the office and the car and everywhere else you're going to take your new tablet computer. It might have a claimed 10 hour battery life, but then if you use it as much as Apple is hoping you will, you'll be draining that battery faster than you know it.

iPad Keyboard Dock

Many might see this as a step back for Apple, a concession that the on-board touchscreen keyboard will struggle under heavy use. Either way it takes away the argument that you won't be able to do any real typing on the iPad. Like the regular dock it will let you plug in other accessories and could mean for a lot of people the end of their laptop completely. Certainly their netbook. It will be interesting to see if the keyboard dock works with the iPod touch and the iPhone.

iPad Case

The only one that doesn't offer you charging capabilities or something else apart from protecting it. The key selling point, claim Apple, is that you can position it to be able to watch movies. Expect the multitude of case makers to come up with something better by the time it comes to parting with your cash.
