LG has announced the launch of the U890 the successor to the U880, launched in October 2005, however on closer inspection there seems to be little difference between the two models.

The new model, the LG U890, will be available in the UK in silver with a vibrant range of new colour trims including pink and blue.

Available exclusively on the 3 network in the UK, the U890 provides external buttons like the U880 to access the music player without the need to open the clamshell device.

Features include a 2.2-inch 262k colour screen, a 1.3 megapixel camera, 75MB user memory and Transflash (MicroSD card slot) and A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Bluetooth technology all in a body just 18.5mm thick, 0.3mm thicker than the previous model.

The quad-band phone supports MP3, AAC, MPEG4 (+MIDI,AMR,WAV) formats for music playback as well as a second 1-inch display on the outside of the phone.

LG are promising a 3G Talk Time/Standby Time: 244min/236hr

The phone is available now.
