360-degree product renders now a piece of cake

In what's being described as a world's first, Ortery Technologies has unveiled the Photosimile 5000 a "solution for creating professional still photos and product animations in spherical, hemispherical and 360-degree formats".

Quite simply, as the video above will show, the machine offers a point-and-click way of capturing an object in 3D that can then be output as a Flash file, for example, to be used, again as an example, on ecommerce websites to give potential buyers a 360-degree look at a product.

We've seen the end result of this kind of thing before, but the Photosimile 5000 goes a step further to put it in reach of anyone with a PC and a modicum of computing ability. We expect to see more 360-degree product renderings online in the future as a result of this...
