When consumer technology is advancing at, what seems to be, an ever increasing rate it is sometimes difficult to recommend buying certain gadgets for fear that they'll be out of date within months.

That said in reference to today's tech deal, which is the Acer Aspire One D250, if you're clear about your on-the-go computing needs - access to the Internet, basic word processing and a half-decent keyboard - you could do a lot worse than this netbook, especially when it's priced at £189.30.

On sale from Ebuyer.com, for the money you'll get an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive with Windows XP as your OS. It has a 10.1-inch screen to view all your info on and connectivity comes in the form of an Ethernet socket and Wi-Fi b/g, with 3x USB 2.0 connections, VGA, headphone and mic sockets.

It's all pretty standard no-frills stuff admittedly, but should do the job and seems to be a bargain. For full details and a place to buy you can click through on this link.
