WEBSITE OF THE DAY – 15toFame

Grab your 15 minutes and prove that Warhol was right

20 January 2010 0:00 GMT / By Ian Hughes

There’s something to be said for this new start-up. In this world of short attention span, jump from one thing to the next, getting trapped in a ‘YouTube loop’, boom-bang-pow media, this site is aiming to give everybody their 15 minutes of fame ŕ la Andy Warhol. (Not sure what he said actually counts as a ‘prophecy’, but what do I know…?)

One video is played continuously and simultaneously around the world for 15 minutes giving you the opportunity to show the whole planet what you’ve got.

We like it. It almost an extension of Anthony Gormley’s ‘One and Other’ project on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square. Only this one might never end…

Check out their Top 100 to see the best of what you’ve missed.
