Motorola executive Rick Wolochatiuk announced during the MOTOROI's Korean debut that the handset "will be launched in other markets around the world," while specifically confirming it's US release for March of this year.
As the first Android device released by the company in Korea, the Android 2.0 running smartphone packs a variety of appealing specs that will likely challenge Motorola's own Droid and the HTC built Google Nexus One for the title of top Android handset in the US.
Featuring a 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash and 720HD camcorder, mini HDMI out port, Wi-Fi, and a unique docking station for use as an alarm clock or digital frame, on paper alone the MOTOROI already looks like an interesting proposition.
Throw in the fact that unlike the Droid, the Motoroi will support multitouch browsing out of the box, and its safe to say that Motorola has its sites firmly set on dominating the upper echelon of Android devices.
No official word though on when we might see the MOTOROI hit other markets, or indeed, hit UK shores, but we'll be sure to follow up with those details as we learn more.
