Vodafone is getting its customers to pay out for better coverage as it re-launches its "Access Gateway" product as the "Vodafone Sure Signal" device now priced from £50 for contract customers.

The Sure Signal is described as a "small plug-in box that significantly improves mobile phone signal" that plugs straight into any home or office broadband line with a download speed of at least 1MB per second.

Vodafone claims the Sure Signal brings customers better and more reliable 3G coverage indoors and works with all 3G handsets, with up to four users possible at any one time.

"No other network in the UK can ensure a great mobile phone signal in the home, because the Sure Signal is unique to Vodafone", says Guy Laurence, Vodafone UK CEO.

"Customers tell us it is life changing. If they live or work in a basement for example, the only way they may be able to get consistent mobile coverage could be with a Vodafone Sure Signal".

Vodafone Sure Signal is available at www.vodafone.co.uk/suresignal for individual customers, with a one-off £50 (or £5 a month for 12 months) for price plans of £25 or more or a £120 one-off cost (or £5 a month for 24 months) for price plans of less than £25.
