Ion, the company behind the USB turntable is keen to allow people to do more with their iPhone than make calls it seems with a new piano bolt-on announced at CES in Las Vegas.

The iDiscover Keyboard enables users to place their iPhone or iPod touch into a docking station that then, with the dedicated app, allows you to play music and record tunes to the Apple device.

The iDiscover Keyboard consists of 25 keys, is battery powered, and features stereo RCA outputs and a headphone jack for connection to playback and recording systems. It also has a USB/MIDI output so musicians can use it as a controller for MIDI software on Mac or PC.

Expect availability some time before June.
