Razer is to release a new motion controller for PC gamers allowing them to interact with games and software by waving their arms around.
The new motion controllers, which are expected to be available later this year, will give gamers the ability to control a weapons movement with precision down to the nearest millimetre, as long as they stand within a 12ft radius of the dedicated base station.
"The absolute controller position is tracked to within a mere millimetre for positioning and to a degree for orientation", a spokesman told Pocket-lint demoing the product.
The controllers, which currently only work with a handful of demos and Valve's Left 4 Dead 2, will allow precise control, enough to let gamers decide which limb they want to chop off of a zombie heading their way.
"It's like the Wii Remote, but there are two of them," a gamer having a go at the demo told us.
More games are expected to be added shortly so there are plenty of options when the controllers are eventually launched says Razer.
"With this controller, Razer and Sixense have created the most immersive way to play our games", said Chet Faliszek, team lead on Valve’s Left 4 Dead 2. "For us and for our customers, this release represents motion-enabled gaming that are more integrated and visceral than any platform has so far achieved".
We will keep you posted.
