CES 2010: On-ear and over-ear cans

Audio-Technica brings affordable noise cancelling headphones

Audio-Technica is offering us all a bit of a break from the usual drooling over what we can't afford by launching two sets of headphones at around the $100 mark.

The ATH-ANC27 and ATH-ANC25 are over-ear and on-ear respectively and both offer the high-end audio company's QuietPoint active noise-cancellation system. The idea is that they provide up to 80% noise reduction by using in-built microphones to detect environmental sound and produce a negative audio pattern to equal the effect out.

They're designed for use with portable audio players, they come with a detachable cord, airplane adaptor and hard carry case as well.

They're out in March and February and cost $120 and £100.
