No sooner has Steve Ballmer demoed a new internet tablet from HP at his keynote speech at CES in Las Vegas, than the company releases a very short and brief teaser video on YouTube of the new product as well as a handful of official press shots.

Specs are incredibly thin on the ground, however, but what we've learnt so far is that the HP Slate, as it is being affectionately called, will be multitouch, feature a webcam and sport what looks to be a 7- or 10-inch screen.

Word on the show floor is that we can expect something this year.

We are digging for more information.
