In for a penny, in for a pound. Apparently the world didn't crumble when Toshiba folded and fell to the irresistible force that is Blu-ray and, now confident, the company has launched three more BD players at CES 2010.
Top of the tree is the Toshiba BDX3000, which like the other two, has Ethernet and USB ports with BD Live access. They playback MP3, HD-JPEG, WMA and AVCHD files as well as 1080p/24fps content both from the disc and streamed live. What this cookie adds to the jar though is that it's embraced the BD 3D standard and will play back all those depth-savvy movies on launch in Q3.
Like the other two models, it will also support both Dolby TruHD and DTS Master Audio standards in 7.1 set up plus you can get online access to Netflix, VUDU, Cinema Now and Pandora for extra content.
Both the BDX3000 and BDX2700 work wirelessly as well, but the BDX2500 needs a wireless adaptor module plugged into the USB port for that functionality.
The latter two players are out in the spring for $250 and $200 respectively. Expect to see them in the EU as well but with differing online partners. Sadly still no Pandora over here.
