LG to launch OLED TV in the UK

15-incher due later this year while "much bigger screen size" promised before 2011

LG has revealed in a blog post that it is to launch its 15-inch OLED television in the UK later this year.

There was always talk of a global rollout for the superslim device, but as we've heard nothing since our hands-on at IFA in September, a concrete mention of a launch is a step forward.

The 25mm thin display from LG will go head-to-head in the UK market with Sony's XEL-1, which at just 11-inches launched with a £3489 price tag.

"Lots of people 'in the know' are already talking about the launch of LG's 15-inch OLED TV to be launched later this year", says the LG UK blog.

"However I can reveal exclusively that there may be a much bigger screen size OLED launching before 2011 too".

We will keep you posted.
