RIM has announced the launch of a new BlackBerry accessory that it says gives mobile professionals and management teams "the tool they need to deliver presentations successfully".

The new BlackBerry Presenter device lets users wirelessly present Microsoft PowerPoint, PDF and other image files directly from their BlackBerry smartphones via Bluetooth.

Not a standalone presentation tool, the BlackBerry Presenter works with a "video output device", such as a monitor or projector, and a VGA cable or an S-Video cable.

The Presenter measures 3.4 x 2.4 x 0.9 inches and will add 140 grams to your load.

"BlackBerry Presenter helps simplify the presentation experience by allowing professionals to lighten their travel load and leave their laptops back at the office", says RIM.

It's due to be available "at a later date" via ShopBlackBerry.com and resellers for $199.
