SRS launches iWOW iPhone adaptor for HD-like audio

Matching app and hardware to customise your listening experience

6 January 2010 13:13 GMT / By Dan Sung

SRS Labs has updated the successful iWOW iPod adaptor to work with both the iPhone and iPod touch. The hardware will clip onto the bottom of these devices - as it does with the iPod Classic and friends - but this time it comes with a free app downloadable from the App Store which allows users to customise the audio output to just how they like it.

The unit uses patented SRS technologies to search for cues within the music and restore the sound from the digital files to give them greater depth and clarity, and a sound closer to something in genuine high definition.

The software also gives custom setting options which will alter the output depending on whether you're listening though headphones, speakers or a car stereo among others.

The iWOW Adapter for iPhone will be out by the end of the month for $79.
