BT has launched a new set-top box for its BT Vision digital TV service that comes in a glossy black finish, said to be designed to match BT's Home Hub wireless router.

Boasting better energy efficiency than the previous model, the Vision+ box is available free of charge to customers ordering online before 15 January who sign up to a 12-month contract with any value pack option.

The Vision+ box gets a 160GB hard drive for storing up to 80 hours of programming, connects to your existing TV aerial to get Freeview TV and to your Home Hub to access on-demand TV, films and music via broadband.

Marc Watson, the CEO BT Vision says: "We are always looking at ways in which we can improve BT Vision. The new BT Vision+ box is not only better looking, it also consumes less energy, something that we know is extremely important to our customers".
