Apple will reveal the much rumoured internet tablet, or iSlate as it is currently being called, at the end of January and have the product in store for March according to sources talking to the Wall Street Journal.

In yet another twist to the continued rumour mill, the WSJ quotes "people briefed on the matter" as saying it will come with a 10- to 11-inch touch screen.

Meanwhile a separate source suggests that Apple's launch event will take place on 27 January, a day later than had previously been rumoured.

Although Apple is remaining tight lipped over the leak, some will no doubt question the source of the leak just hours before the tech industry meets in Las Vegas for the annual CES conference.

"One of the people briefed on the matter added that Apple was working on two different material finishes for the tablet, though it was unclear whether the Cupertino, Calif., company was just testing them or planning to come out with multiple versions of the device at different prices", reports the WSJ.

The Apple tablet, which is currently rumoured to be called the iSlate, is expected to offer iPhone capabilities in a device with a larger screen for use around the home, very much like a digital magazine.

Apple, however, hasn't official commented on any of the rumours, or even acknowledged that the product even exists as yet.
