Intel has made its new "Pinetrail" Atom processors official with the news that the new chips feature integrated graphics built directly into the CPU, meaning improved performance in smaller, more energy-efficient designs in a new generation of netbooks and Atom-based entry level desktop PCs.

The new Intel Atom processor, the N450 and a new low-power Intel NM10 Express Chipset as well as the Intel Atom processor D410 or the dual core D510, (that will also be paired with the NM10 Express Chipset) are explained here in a consumer-friendly video from Intel that's worth a watch if you're interested in the innards side of hardware.  

What this means for consumers is that we're soon due to see a ton of new netbooks and nettops from manufacturers such as Asus, Acer, Dell, Toshiba, Fujitsu, Lenovo, Samsung and MSI after the next-generation Intel Atom systems become available from early January.
