One of the world's largest LCD manufacturers has revealed it is kicking off mass market production of a Full HD 65-inch 3D LCD television.

AU Optronics, which supplies panels to Samsung, BenQ, Apple, and ViewSonic, among others, plans to start volume production in the second half of 2010.

In a short report, DigiTimes says "AUO indicated that the flat panel industry's future development of technology will focus on high resolution and 3D displays, and fast response time will be a key factor for the development".

Sky has announced it is to begin 3D broadcasts next year, so here in the UK at least consumer demand for such products is expected to rise.
