Philips BDP7500 Blu-ray player on sale in the UK

The Philips BDP7500 Blu-ray player is now available in the UK, bringing 1080p, 24fps, Full HD images as well as the ability to upscale standard definition DVDs to near Full HD quality.

Claiming a "unique design with rounded edges and an elegant inlaid lip with a subtle blue light", the front panel has a black, mirror-like finish and touch-sensitive illuminated controls.

The player boasts support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 audio formats, a built-in USB port for playback from USB devices with support for file formats including DivX Ultra, H.264, VC-1, JPEG and MP3.

The BDP7500 is fully BD-Live compatible allowing access to content directly over the Internet with the 1GB of internal memory required to instantly access the content.

The BDP7500 is available now for an estimated selling price of £249.
