Sky Songs, the broadcaster's new music streaming and download service, is following rival service Spotify in offering gift subscriptions for Christmas.

Sky Songs has three packages to chose from, a streaming option, a download option and a "bit of both" option that can be bought in time for sticking in a stocking, or more accurately, landing in an inbox with a timer option to "deliver" on the 25th.

The browser-based streaming option offers unlimited ad-free access to over 4 million tracks as well as five free downloads a month, costs £4.99 a month and can be purchased as a gift option in 3-month increments.

Downloads can be bought from 20 per month up to 240 per month with a 20-songs-a-month option setting the giver back £9.99 while the "bit of both" option for £6.49 per month offers unlimited streaming and 10 songs to download.
