In time for the "Holiday" travel season, Nokia has announced the availability of the Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition in the States.
The 3.2-inch touchscreen device comes with voice-guided navigation for North America and a car kit so it can be easily mounted on a dash or windscreen.
With navigation provided by Ovi Maps for mobile, there's real-time turn-by-turn navigation for both cars and pedestrians.
Needing no connectivity for the directions side of things, Ovi Maps for mobile is said to be a fully-fledged car navigation solution with speed limit warnings, speed camera alerts, traffic info as well as high resolution satellite and terrain maps, including 3D landmarks.
POIs come from Lonely Planet, Michelin and Wcities and there's also a weather service that provides 24-hour and 5-day forecasts.
The Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition is on sale in the US for around $299 available direct from www.nokiausa.com as well as independent retailers.
