CoPilot Live iPhone app updated

Price doubles, but still cheaper than TomTom equivalent

CoPilot has rolled out yet another update to its CoPilot Live iPhone application which allows customers access to various premium services offered by the company.

There's Live Traffic info, Live local search and the option to get local fuel prices listed on the map - all can be purchased within the app for £20 for a year's usage. The former lets you route around jams, whereas local search lets you find businesses or services nearby.

The latest version of CoPilot live is in the app store now, and existing customers get the upgrade free. New customers will have to pay £26 for the app, so the premium services almost double the cost of getting the full usage out of the application.

It's still cheaper than most other mapping equivalents, at the time of writing, though with Google's free navigation option on the horizon, will there soon be a price crash as GPS companies begin to try and compete with free?
