Vodafone UK settings go live on iTunes

The iPhone is edging ever closer to availability on Vodafone with the news just in that the Vodafone UK Carrier Settings have gone live on iTunes.

As reported on the Vodafone eForum, this means anyone in the UK running an iPhone on Vodafone (with OS 3.1.2) will be prompted to download the new carrier settings the next time they connect their iPhone up to iTunes.

For pay as you go users the process is a little different with "Cellular Data Network" settings needing to be changed with instructions on how to do this on the eForum.

This move reveals that the behind-the-scenes work is busy being carried out by Apple and Vodafone for the iPhone's imminent launch on Vodafone - said to be early 2010 - but a nice early Christmas present for fans of the big V if it did happen sooner.
