Microsoft has bought Lionhead Studios the games company of gaming maverick Peter Molyneux for an undisclosed sum.Molyneux who has been responsible for gaming greats such as Populous, Black and White and most recently Fable will also move with the sale.
Lionhead Studios will immediately begin creating content exclusively for the Xbox360 and Microsoft Windows platforms for Microsoft Games Studio
"At Microsoft Game Studios we have worked hard to become the best partner for the best creative talent in our industry, and this acquisition underscores our commitment to excellence", said Shane Kim, general manager of Microsoft Game Studios. "Peter Molyneux is one of the few true visionaries in our industry.”
Peter Molyneux has a history of starting company's and then selling them to bigger publishers once they get established. His last company before Lionhead Studios, Bullfrog was sold to EA. Gaming, Xbox 360, Gaming industry, Microsoft
