LG has announced the W86L - a monitor aimed at "those looking for detailed
visuals, vivid colours and flawless motion" - that'll be gamers and multimedia enthusiasts mostly, then.
The display has a standard 2ms response time, but a decent contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1. It's also got an LED backlight - which allows it to be both slimmer and lighter than devices with an LCD backlight, and also consume less power. It has a thickness of just 20.5mm at its thickest point.
The W86L is available in 22-inch and 24-inch versions, which differ only in their size and power consumption. They both have two HDMI ports, seven control keys and a touch sensor as a power button. It'll cost between £270 and £300 and will appear on shelves and websites in December 09.
