Amazon Kindle breaks sales records in November

Best selling item across entire site is "flying off the shelves"

Amazon has announced that November 2009 is the best sales month ever for the Kindle, which means little when you consider the etailing giant has not now, nor ever, disclosed sales stats for the device.

The Kindle has apparently broken a sales record this month, and this does not include the sales that will be generated today - "Cyber Monday" in the States - which is the biggest online shopping day of the year following last week's Black Friday.

"Kindle continues to be the most wished for, the most gifted, and the #1 bestselling product across all product categories on Amazon", says the online store in a statement which does suggest that those unreleased sales stats must be highly impressive.

"Kindle is a great gift for anyone who loves to read and it's flying off the shelves faster than any other product Amazon sells", said Ian Freed, vice president, Amazon Kindle.

"We're seeing lots of people buying from one to a handful of Kindles as gifts for friends or family, as well as many businesses and other organizations buying Kindles in large quantities for their employees or customers".
