Sharing tech sees maps updated after the collapse of bridges

In light of the recent floods in Cumbria, TomTom is drawing its customers' attention to how to update their UK maps, using TomTom Map Share technology.

Map Share lets TomTom users add to, update and personalise the maps on their device - and share changes with the entire TomTom Map Share community.

Relevant to Cumbria, recent Map Share updates have included the changes to the local area following the collapse of three bridges Low Lorton Bridge, Northside Bridge and the Little Braithwaite Bridge.

"Our unique Map Share technology is the only technology that lets people update maps on their sat navs instantly", says Damian Woodward, UK VP sales and marketing, TomTom.

"We encourage all TomTom Map Share users to update their maps with the recent bridge closures in Cumbria, and other road obstructions to ensure a safe and reliable driving experience".
