Xperia Pureness comes to Selfridges

Sony Ericsson's designer handset arriving soon

We enjoyed the teaser campaign for the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pureness, even if it was rendered a little brief by the sudden announcement of all the details. Originally planned for November, we were wondering where the designer handset had got to, but now we know - it's coming to Selfridges in early December.

As previously reported, the device is "targeted at the older affluent mobile user who wants basic functions". It does talk, texts and the time, and that's about it. It doesn't even have a colour screen. However, that might be for design reasons - the phone also has a transparent lcd and "subtle illumination" of the buttons.

The phone measures 102 x 43 x 13mm, and weighs 70 grams. It's available in black only, and costs a whopping £530, being sold exclusively at Selfridges. One for your Christmas list, perhaps?
