Asus has announced the launch of the SDRW-08D1S-U external slim DVD writer, angled as ideal for use with netbooks that have no optical drive of their own as well as for home users wanting to back data up to DVD.
With sleek, glossy black or white looks, the upright drive is USB-powered, portable and offers what's said to be an easy to use drag and drop interface.
Boasting low power consumption, write speeds are up to 8x and it offers disk encryption for added password security on files.
The drive is available now on the high street and online priced at £49.99.
