Dell today announced the Dell Latitude D620 and Latitude D820 the first of its new laptops to include support for 3G via Vodafone in Europe and Cingular and Verizon Wireless in the US.The new Latitude D620 includes an Intel Core Duo processor with a 14.1-inch WXGA display, 512MB shared DDR2 memory, 40GB SATA hard drive and 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi capability.
A base configuration for the Latitude D820 includes an Intel Core Duo processor with a wide aspect 15.4-inch WXGA display, 512MB DDR2 shared memory, 40GB SATA hard drive and 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi capability.
Dell also says that the models will be pre-configured for 802.11n, a wireless specification that is set to significantly increase throughput and range of current Wi-Fi-enabled hardware.
Both models will include an integrated new optional biometric fingerprint reader, Smart Card, Trusted Platform Module (TPM1.2) to provide choice to customers in ensuring authorised access to data.
And feature sealed, spill-resistant keyboards, full-time hard drive protection with StrikeZone™, metal-reinforced security slots are included standard on all models.
The Dell Latitude D620 and D820 are available immediately to customers in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) priced £714 and £804 respectively excluding VAT and delivery.
Dell also today unveiled two next-generation mobile workstations, the Dell Precision M90 and Dell Precision M65.
The two models feature up to 512MB high-performance OpenGL graphics, Intel Core Duo processors as well as up to 17-inch wide-aspect displays.
Stats for both machines include an OpenGL graphics with up to 512MB dedicated graphics memory, 2MB L2 cache and a fast 667MHz front side bus, Up to 4GB of high speed DDR2 memory, 667MHz memory interface to speed the transfer of data, a bright displays up to WUXGA (1920 X 1200) resolution, onboard IEEE 1394, three-button touch pad, DVI and SVGA video outputs, and integrated smartcard reader and TPM 1.2 support
The Dell Precision M90 and Dell Precision M65 are both available now in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), priced at £1497 and £1168 respectively, ex. VAT and delivery. Hardware, Laptops, Dell, 3G
