Nokia N900 gets Pay Monthly pricing

4 November 2009 10:20 GMT / By Duncan Geere

The N900 isn't far away now - it's due on 16 November. As a result, we're due some pricing information and, lo and behold, here it is courtesy of mobile comparison site Omio.

It's possible to get the handset on a 24-month contract for as little as £20 per month from Orange, though that'll only give you 200 minutes and you'll have to shell out £170 for the handset. A similar 24-month deal from O2 for £30 per month will net you 600 minutes, and the phone itself will only cost £10.

If you're determined to get the handset free, then a 24-month deal from Orange will set you back £35 per month with 900 minutes. The cheapest 18-month contact is £25 per month, again from Orange, with 600 minutes and £220 upfront phone cost.

Are you itching to get your hands on the N900? Tell us why, and which pricing option you reckon you'll go for, in the comments.

  • Nun of the pricing plans sound that great £30/month is ok with a good deal, but I would rather be on Three of Vodafone. Posted by Andrew, UK
  • Im getting mine from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk 24 months. £35, 600 mins unltd text and internet. No I don't work for them. Posted by Mark, UK
  • Sorry, on Vodafone! You can get that deal from the nokia shop too I think. Posted by Mark, United Kingdom
  • Tmobile will do the best deals, already you can pre-order a free handset for £35pm 18month, 600 mins unltd text and internet.

Sim free handsets are available for £439.

  • Why spend £35 a month on this ugly black plastic brick? Posted by Myc, GB
  • I'll get it as an upgrade on vodafone through mobilephonesdirect.co.uk on the same tarrif but its working out £10 cheaper, from £45 to £35. Can't wait.... Posted by Studa, uk
  • All the latest contracts from orange and O2 are a rip off - I got my N900 preorder for £52 for the handset and £34 a month on a 12 Month Contract (T-Mobile) from Mobile Phones Direct. The handset cost for an equivalent Orange package is about £229 Posted by Nick, UK
  • SIM free and ubranded is the only way to go.

And calling N900 an ugly brick is the same as calling The Monolith from 2001: The Space Odyssey an ugly black brick.

  • I've bought the N900 for £400 online and went to an Orange shop to get the contract I want. When the phone arrives I'll sell the Blackberry I got on the contract for over £100 easily meaning the phone technically cost me approx £300. If you work out the cost of a 24 month contract, every £5 per month will end up costing you £120 over the 2 years, so saving myself from a pricey contract allows me to spend that money on the phone and end up with exactly the package of phone and contract (inc. unlimited internet) that I want at a cheaper overall price! just more money up front is all.
