Canon has updated the firmware for its PowerShot SX1 IS camera.

Version 2.0.0.0 incorporates a RAW image recording function into the camera.

The firmware is available to download now from Canon's website and once you've installed it, you'll be able to capture RAW images.

You can also download the Digital Photo Professional software at the same time, which will allow you to develop and edit the RAW images you take, on your computer.

All the instructions are on the Canon website if you've never done it before, so head over there for full details.
