Transcend announces new SDHC HD video card range

16 March 2009 20:08 GMT / By Verity Burns

Transcend has announced its range of SDHC HD video cards, its newest additions to its memory card series.

Developed to handle the increased capacity, speed and reliability requirements of HD video, the SDHC cards also boast a high capacity which HD video demands.

When recording in high quality 1920 x 1080 AVCHD format at 13Mbps compression rate, a 16GB Transcend SDHC HD video card can store 2 hours 40 minutes of video content.

If you lower your quality settings slightly, the same 16GB card will be able to record up to six hours of HD video.

Cards will also be available in 8GB and 4GB capacities, able to record up to 3 hours and 90 minutes of content respectively.

Transcend’s SDHC HD video cards are also Class 6 compliant, which means they provide a guaranteed minimum write speed of 6MBps for a quick transfer speed when downloading content onto your PC.

Pricing and availability to be confirmed, we'll keep you posted.
