Large aperture standard zoom lens with optical stabilisation

Sigma Corporation has unveiled the new 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM large aperture standard zoom lens.

The lens incorporates Sigma's optical stabilisation function, which can be used on Sony and Pentax cameras even if the camera body features its own anti-shake function.

This, coupled with the large aperture of F2.9 mmeans the lens will make a good choice for both indoor and low light photography.

The lens features two special low dispersion glass elements and three aspherical lenses for aberration correction, as well as both inner focusing and inner zooming systems so the overall length of the lens doesn't change.

You'll get a minimum focusing distance of 30cm throughout the entire zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4.1.

Pricing and availability is to be announced - we'll keep you updated.
