Pentax drops price of K20D in the US

Body only now starts from $799.95

Pentax has bucked the trend for price rises in the industry at the moment and announced a price drop on its K20 DSLR and two K20D lens kits.

Unfortunately, Pentax has told Photography Press the reduction will only be seen in America, but that both the body and two lens kit configurations have been reduced by $200, effective immediately.

The price for the K20D body will now only be $799.95, with the DA 18-55mm II lens kit coming in at $879.95 and the DA 16-45mm lens kit $1199.95.

Along with the price reductions, Pentax is also extending the K20D to a free 3-year warranty on all models purchased before the end of March.

Head over to Pentax's website for more details and, for the lucky ones living in the US, to locate a dealer.

UPDATE:

Pentax UK has contacted Photography Press with the following comment:

"The price drop which occurred yesterday in the US was the result of Pentax US bringing their prices more in-line with the local market.

"Pentax UK has no plans to adjust the price of the K20D, which is already competitively priced in the market. The price drop in the US will not affect the UK market".
