Ex-Polaroid employee planning the "re-invention of instant film"

So Polaroid may have introduced the new instant digital camera to some way make up for the discontinuation of the original Polaroid, but it seems some have felt this just wasn't good enough.

Therefore, André Bosman, a former Polaroid employee and Florian Kaps, a former manager of the Lomographic Society, have put their heads together to come up with a new instant film pack.

The New York Times has reported that the pair purchased the old manufacturing equipment from a Polaroid family with hopes to start production next year.

"This is a last chance to keep another analog iconic medium from disappearing. This is a unique medium and it deserves a second chance", said Kaps.

They also want to make it clear that they don't want to re-build Polaroid, but in fact "develop a new product with new characteristics, consisting of new optimised components, produced with a streamlined modern setup".

Titled "The Impossible Project", it seems Bosman and Kaps realise the challenge that faces them, but are willing to work their socks off for their new invention. We'll keep you updated on their progress, but keep an eye on the website as well for news.
