Sigma has launched a new super-range zoom lens in the form of the 18-250mm F3.5-6.3 DC OS HSM.Confirmed for release on 10 March, the lens boasts a minimum focusing distance of 45cm at all focal lengths and 13.8x zoom ratio.
It also features an inner focusing system that helps to eliminate front lens rotation, making it suitable for use with circular polarising filters and the supplied petal-type hood.
Sigma's anti-shake compensation, the Hybrid Optical Stabiliser, provides not only an anti-shake function for the camera body, but also compensates for image shaking in the view finder.
The lens also incorporates Special Low Dispersion glass elements and three aspherical lens elements for good image quality throughout the zoom range.
No prices have been released as yet, but we'll get them to you when we have them.
