Canon releases firmware update to solve "Black Dot" phenomenon

Version 1.0.7 for EOS 5D Mark II

Canon has kept its promise and got to the bottom of the problem causing the "Black dot" phenomenon on the EOS 5D Mark II, releasing a firmware update to fix it.

Firmware version 1.0.7 both fixes "Black dot" problem, where the right side of point light sources become black, as well as the vertical banding noise that was noted by some users.

Canon has advised that when upgrading the camera firmware to 1.0.7, you should also install the updates for Digital Photo Professsional and Picture Style Editor software as well.
