Leica has announced a special edition of the Leica D-Lux 4 that is to be made in titanium.

The Leica D-Lux 4 Titanium now joins the special titanium limited editions of the Leica M7 and Leica MP and a titanium coloured Leica M6 TTL as the first Leica digital camera with the satin finish of anodised titanium.

This special version of the Leica D-Lux 4 Titanium is limited to just 10,000 cameras worldwide. From January 2009, the camera will be available in a set together with a premium quality, titanium-coloured leather case.

The technical features of the Leica D-Lux 4 Titanium are same as those of the standard models, meaning all the accessories compatible with the Leica D-Lux 4 will be compatible with the titanium edition.

No word yet on price or how many we can expect in the UK, but we'll get you that information when we have it.
