Third update this year

Ricoh has announced the availability of the third function-enhancing firmware update for its GR Digital II compact, released in November last year.

Ricoh's firmware updates are developed in response to opinions and requests received from customers via the GR Blog and surveys submitted at customer registration time.

There are a total of four enhanced functions in the update.

Firstly, it is now possible to use the AF target shift function in normal modes, whereas previously it was only available in macro mode.

Secondly, you can now set the Fn (Function) button to the AF target shift function, rather than just the ADJ. lever.

Next up is the fact you can register manual exposure mode aperture value and shutter speed settings in My Settings, convenient when you want to instantly switch to a fixed exposure.

And finally, the "Quick Set" function has been expanded to include exposure settings for manual exposure mode so they can be set at the push of a button.

The update is available now from Ricoh's website, along with full details on how to install it.
