Casinos from Blackpool to Las Vegas could get a huge technology overhaul if a Korean start-up has anything to say about it.

The company has created a casino chip that allows gamblers and The House to easily count how many chips they are betting.

Using a technology called RFID (Radio Frequency Indentification), the gambling chips would send a signal to a computer screen nearby displaying how many are stacked on a certain number or area on the table.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, relying on storing and remotely retrieving data using devices called RFID tags or transponders and are more commonly used in tracking parcels.

In this instance the tiny metal chip is embedded into the middle of the chip so it can be tracked around the table.

The end result means that gamblers and The House will be able to get an instant tally of chips on a certain number or the table giving them a better understanding of who is betting on what.

Because of the limited range of the chips, users will not be able to see what is going on outside a radius of 3 metres.
