Nikon has received gold DIWA awards for two of its DSLR cameras, the D60 and D300.

DIWA or Digital Imaging Websites Association, is an international network of independent websites focusing on digital imaging. The winners of its awards are chosen by professional photography websites and are based on unique test samples and evaluations of more than 200 functions and features.

Nikons' D300 received gold in the semi-professional DSLR category, and its D60 came top in the consumer DSLR category.

The judges said that the D60 had "excellent image quality, ergonomic design and useful features", while the D300 "meets the demands of both professionals and serious amateurs" thanks to its "unsurpassed image quality and camera performance".

Nikon has had a successful year with awards in 2008, winning recognition in both TIPA and EISA award ceremonies.
