Canon USA cashback cheques may bounce

Cashback company declared bankrupt

The company that was responsible for processing Canon cashback claims in States has declared itself bankrupt, meaning many have been left with cheques that could bounce.

Canon has released a statement advising anyone who has received a cheque recently for any products not to bank it, and has promised it is doing everything it can to rectify the situation quickly.

The company was in charge of rebate programs for Canon-brand printer and video products, but filed for bankrupcy at the end of last week. Canon has said that the funds it had given the company to cover rebates was no longer available to cover them.

"We apologize for any inconvenience, delay or confusion this may cause. We are doing everything in our power to promptly rectify the situation," read the statement.

The official advice is to not bank any cheque received recently, or to send off any new claims, and to keep an eye out on the Canon USA website on or around November 21st for information. All claims will be honoured, so you'll still get your hands on your cash... eventually.

And remember folks, this just affects our friends across the pond in the States, and has no connection to any Canon cashback offers anywhere else in the world.
