Canon has announced updated firmware for the EOS 50D.Version 1.0.3 fixes a number of problems encountered by users of the popular DLSR.
The updated firmware will correct the occasional overexposure of images, as well as the problem in which "busy" blinks on the display panel and the shutter cannot be released due to timing of battery installation.
Finally, version 1.0.3 correct the issue of "Err 99" appearing on the display panel and the shutter cannot be released due to the timing of pressing the shutter button.
Head over to the Canon website to download the latest update, which is recommended for anyone with a firmware version of 1.0.2 or below.
To check your version, turn on your camera and press the menu button. Turn the main dial and quick control dial and you will see the firmware version at the end of the settings showing in "Set-up 3". If it already reads Version 1.0.3, you don't require the update.
Canon has all the information on how to install the firmware on its website so head over there if you need a few pointers. DSLR cameras
