10 October 2008 16:04 GMT / By Verity Burns

Around 13,000 Vivitar cameras and camcorders will be auctioned off next week, following the company's sale to Sakar International and the liquidation of all its UK stock.

King Sturge will be selling the products, all brand new and boxed, in an online auction along with some other photographic equipment.

There will be 990 lots in all, sold over two days, many of which will include up to ten cameras. The auction will open on 14th October at 10am and close on 16th October at 1pm.

Lots 1 - 400 will close on day one and lots 401 - 990 on day two, so don't worry if you can't get to a computer until then.

King Sturge partner in charge Mike Hanson said: "This is an interesting disposal and one which has already sparked numerous inquiries. We are expecting bidding to be lively when the auction opens on 14th October ."
